As you may have noticed, no charts this week, as I am in Stockholm on business. There is however the matter of this whole book thing. We are trying to have all our submissions in be the end of the year, so that gives you only ~3 weeks to send your submissions to ilcthebook@gmail.com
We have been putting together a great list of submissions, and those of you who have not heard back from us on what you sent in will certainly hear back by the end of the month as the book takes shape and we see what content we will choose. Thank you as always for your support and for making running this blog the most fun part of our day!

Good Afternoon Charts Enthusiasts,
I’m thrilled to announce that I Love Charts has a book deal! With the help of the good people at Sourcebooks, we are putting together a project, currently (tentatively) titled I Love Charts: The Book, for release IRL — in bookshelves and everything — in 2012.
I am equally thrilled to announce that David Karp has agreed to write the book’s forward.
It’s pretty amazing that this little Tumblog has gotten to this point, and our success is due almost entirely to the incredibly gracious, supportive and creative Tumblr community. Our followers scour the Internet to find submissions, create their own charts, share what they find here with friends, give love when we are doing well, and yell at me on Twitter when we are off our game. They have made running this blog the most fun part of my day for almost two years. (Two years! I have no idea how many charts that is, but if somebody wants to do the math, we have 12 charts per page, so find the last page and let me know…) Thank you. We love you.
It is important to us that I Love Charts: The Book be made in the same spirit as the website, “by people who love charts, for people who love charts,” so we are giving all of our readers the opportunity to be a part of its creation. We want this book to represent the best material from the community that made this blog what it is, all the fans, friends, designers and artists, and so if you’ve submitted to us in the past, if you have new work you would like to submit, if you have any sort of chart you would like us to consider for inclusion in the book, you can contact us here.
It doesn’t matter if you are a cartoonist, a statistician, a graphic designer or just have a drinking problem and Microsoft Paint, we would love to see your work. You guys got us here, so you guys are coming with us to the bookshelves! If your chart is selected for inclusion, you get:
Your name and URL in the book
A free signed copy of the book
The chance to see your chart in print, next to those of some of our friends who have already signed on to help out:
Zach Weiner
Ben Greenman
Dante Shepherd
Tang Yau Hoong
Walter Green
Bandra Girl
Jeff Wysaski (pleated-jeans)
Benjamin Grelle (thefrogman)
Christian Baker (Tastefully Offensive)
Kendall Gilliland (ThisIsNotThatBlog)
Nico Delucia (Endless Origami)
And we have some other big names involved we are hoping to announce soon, so stay tuned.
Thank you all again for reading, you are the best. I hope to hear from a lot of you soon.
Hugs and hand pounds,
Jason
